Doc you just like to see me drool. I wish that was my christmas present. Looks like he may have the car done in time.. and black my favorite color.. now all it needs is a blower on top for that extra hp.

RS must be a good old-time hot rodder. He's got F60's mounted on the front of that thing. I haven't seen tires like that since the 70's! back before Washington decided the US was going to go metric like the rest of the world and they switched over to the P metric system. Thank God that didn't work out!

The car does look pretty nice, but if your going to take it, might as well take the other one too.

You know most wives wouldn't tolerate all those cars laying around. I really need to talk to his mrs lol. Offer to help her out by taking a few off their hands.

I have to admit I'd probably swap out the tires and put the rims I want on it. Don't think RS will toss in a 1500.00 set of rims for nothing, course they were 1500.00 8 years ago i'd hate to price them now. NEVER GO WITH CHROME there is a reason they are cheaper, just look at the rusty ones on my nova that I only drove on three months.

JR i like your idea of helping him decided to give the car to me lol

Think he'd trade me one of them for my old Ford? Isn't your Nova running, if so, why not? If you got rust on them chrome wheels, just go buy a couple of cans of Krylon and paint the rust away.

Those Camaros look really purty and I'd like to have one. I just need an address, time when it will be finished, a full tank of gas, and it could be mine.

Nope didn't register Beastie this year. I've lovingly started her every few weeks and dream. Needs brakes hardcore and just as bad shocks. The right front shock is worthless and doing more damage than good. LOL If only I could stick spacers in the front like in the back springs poor mans wait to raise the back end. Actually those are the only half way decent shocks in the back and they need to go and air shocks (adjustable to please every cop in town) needs to go in the back. I can cover the shocks and chip the original ones out with a sledge hammer, but I can't afford brakes, and won't do them myself. Funny how the insurance company won't cover an accident if you do your own brakes. Nor can I turn my own roters so I might as well look and dream for now. We sure could use it running. Might as well enjoy the engine, but at least i'm starting on some body work. Pounding a few dents and dreading every second of the roof dent. I'll post a picture if i can figure out the digital cam tomorrow. A bowling ball fell on the roof right where the windshield and drivers door meet. Thankfully the post between the two windows kept the glass from breaking or so the story the little old lady told my neighbor goes. She said the car saved her life and honestly with the way Beastie is possesed I believe her.

I've never heard of the insurance company not honoring an insurance claim if one does their own brake job. Is that in the papers? If they don't cover for that reason, then why would it be any different if one did other work on their vehicle, like change tires.

You want to lower that ride, not raise it. So just totally remove the shocks, torch the front springs and take a few leaves out of the rear springs. As for the dent in the roof, have someone inside gently push it back up, then put duct tape on the dent crowns, some on a light hammer, use a flat piece of wood and gently tap the crown, can also tap directy on the crown with the hammer and take your time doing it. If done correctly, may be able to take it out without bondo or repainting, or a minimal amount of both. I don't know what the dent is like, so not real helpful.

I use a slapping file for taking out dents like that if they need painting. The file is "Z" shaped and just use it like a hammer with or without a dolly on the dents, don't use a hammer to much these days.

Im feeling pretty good. Forcing myself to get up and do things. Legs seem to be getting stronger. Still hurt like hell but the advill helps a lot.

DOC COOL!!! I have mysql access. Paid extra for it so that I'd have it all! Just what I need more message boards to play on lol.

JR there will be nothing gentle about getting this dent out. Its going to take lots of pounding and no missing with the windshield right there. I'm trying to get connor to take pics. Its ugly and about the size of a hmmm bowling ball lol. On the next really hot day its time for some dry ice to pop some of the hail damage out on the hood, I got most of the trunk already. The old lady didn't want to put it back in her garage after the bowling ball accident. Poor beastie hasn't seen the inside of a garage in 20years except when I had the heater core replaced. Wish I was back home my uncle is a prof. welder and does all his own body work. I sure could use his welding on the fender, and a few of his other tools for the rest. LOL I do have the Dent King. Connor got it it works great on small dents on cheap tin cars, but don't know how it would work on this old baby. Don't think it can handle the roof but i'll give it a shot. I really have a feeling its going to be a drill and pull which I don't want to do because of the old glass. Its not sealed in the best (but at least you can't really see the quick fix caulking on it lol)

Doc, I haven't drank any Crown this weekend, haven't drank any thing but Diet Coke and Diet Mountain Dew all weekend and have a Diet Dr. Pepper that I left on the counter. Just remembered. I have taken some ass-kickin' meds the doctors have given me for my the pinched nerves. Just mellowing out and watching NASCAR.

It's 99 degrees and 24% humidity out, slight breeze, not too bad outside. This is boat race weekend, we have had for 30 plus years the unlimited hydroplanes that race on the Columbia River. It's a 3 day event, had some heat races yesterday, with unlimited lights, the limited hydos and an outrageous air show. There was some politics with the new Hydroplane sanctioning body and the boats told them to screw off and there are 10 unlimiteds (the big ones). The racers say this is the best race circuit anywere and they all want to race here, good money prizes from Budweiser. Was watching an A-10 Warthog do some manuvers yesterday, didn't think them slow planes could do them fancy manuvers.

So Doc, you feeling better, how did your doctor appointment go the other day?

Witchie, I have never done the ice cube on the dent, will do that when the wife gets back with her car. Some door dings and am getting ready to trade it in on a new Honda, Toyota or ? Was going to get a Honda Oddeysey, but once in the garage, can't access the freezer or a few other things, it's 11" longer and 4.3" wider, which will screw me up, especially for getting door dings on the old Ford. Proabably will get her a Honda Accord, the Nissan's warranty is up next month, has 30,500 miles on it, one more recall and the same squealing right front brake since new. Drives great and fun, but has tinny exterior and poor interior.

On your Nova, post/send some pix of the dents, then I might be able to tell you how to get them out with minimal effort. I does sound nasty, but most roof dents are pretty easy to take out, but not sure about yours.
