OK, one more time. I'm the one on the left, wearing nothing underneath but my safety glasses. Don, my best friend for over 40 years and boss is on the right.
Wish I had one of me in a "Moon" suit, which you step into and is sealed up using a "seal-a-meal" type system, with fully self contained breathing apperatus (scba). The setup above, just have a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) that is fastened to the belt and a hose goes into the back of the hood. Positive filtered air flow for me to breathe. Got some really neat pictures of fuel in water that appears to give off a blue glow, will see if I can find it.
Tommy, seems you like to go fast, how fast was that bird? I bet you had a blast flying that F/A 18.
My sisters ex, was an airplane instructor. I used to go with him quite a bit, when he was building up his hours. I got to fly a couple of single engine Cessna's, with him. Even did a few touch and go's. Always liked flying in the smaller planes, never too crazy about the big commercial planes.
JR, I really don't think anyone knows what the top speed is because of vibration issues.
Let's just say you can't get away from it. Also, it will make your nose bleed.
The smaller planes are a lot more fun.
When I lost my right eye, I also lost my license.
My oldest son still lets me fly his, oops not supposed to say that.
The nicest thing about flying is, you can go above bad weather. Sky is always clear up there. No birds pooping on your windshield either.
RS, I run a P tag.
I can drive anything I want as long as I am not getting paid.
I don't get paid for hauling my riggs.
I don't get paid for hauling Debra's riggs.
If I am lucky, I get to make about three trips a year.
I go through all the weigh stations, always get the green light.
I run a log book just as the other truckers do.
My average speed is not very good, but keeps me out of trouble.
My last trip was about 48 mph.
Another thing that helps a great deal is, I run a transponder. Never had it turn red on me.
LOL, just glad I don't have to do it for a living. I just enjoy getting away and seeing the countryside.
Tommy, I'm not familar with planes and jets, but I'm sure it goes fast enough. If one goes too fast in one of those, will it vibrate all the rivits and welds loose?
My father was a truck driver (Teamster) for many years and retired Lt. Coronel. The only time he flew his plane, B-17, was when the pilot and co-pilot were killed and he had to fly it back to Austrailia. He was a navigator/bombedier (sp). He was Army Air Corp, for 18 years (active and reserves), then switched to Army reserves.
JR, I really don't know the answer to that one.
When the vibration gets to a certain point, it Explodes.
I believe it would have more to do with internal pressure.
Those planes are still in use and revealing the true speed would not be wise.
Unless it was carrying a full payload, with proper pilot, it would be untouchable.
