If you would have picked anything but a Mazda!
They were Shit when new! Parts are more expensive than Nissan, Honda, Toyota. And it seems to me Mazda's were way less reliable than the leading imports.
But of course you knew that right? I will buy an old Maxima or Accord in a heart beat if i find a nice one that has been cared for. Even a Camry even though i have never done as well with them as Nissan and Honda.
And just how long have you had that car?

Hey there:
I live in Tampa and I just happened to have checked out this car in person during the first auction (the high bidder didn't pay on that one). I don't remember a check engine light or smoking and the car ran pretty decently altho it had a loud muffler. I didn't notice any electronics not working except a window but I think that was stated in the auction. I wasn't all about the car as I thought the color scheme was really ugly in person so I passed on it.
Meowsertd, let me point out a key point in case you missed it. I PERSONALLY CHECKED OUT THE CAR! Did you inspect the car yourself before you bid? Did you run a CARFAX (the best service) on it? I have a feeling the answer is NO. Also, as the feedback you got points out, you bought a 12 year old LUXURY car for $1,500! What do you expect? Do you expect a perfect car with no problems? Mazda's of that era weren't nearly as reliable as Toyotas or Hondas...you should be lucky the transmission is working properly! They made junk trannies back then. In actuality, the car sold for wholesale price! It would go for that much at auction. I sold my 12 year old Dodge Omni for that much!
As much as I hate to say it, you seem a bit ignorant I recommend you do something more constructive with your time. Maybe you can make a hobby out of looking at and fixing cars and maybe this won't happen again.
Oh yeah, you have one more thing against you: the auction states "As is" so you really have no rights. Get over it!

btw doc, I alwasy liked the Mazda prior to Fords take over. I will disagree with you that they were always shit.
sure my 94 626 with the ford tranny was, but id think that the 929 wasnt after all its a consumer reports best buy in a used car consitantly
I will agree that a camery or a maxima would be the better choice as they are more main stream
I said it befrore and ill say it again every time i shop for myself I screw up. not a smart bidder on ebay
