I actually went and had fun last night!

Post by MidoriMeadows » February 25th, 2006, 12:36 pm

It was the boss's bday. We went to this Greek rest. in Portland. A bunch of her family from CA showed up to surprise her (although she knew about it).

What a blast, the food was good but it was a lot of fun dancing those Greek dances. Boss did 40 seconds under the ouzo bottle (I hate ouzo), not bad for a 60 yo lady. Only one other person made it that far, her nephew managed 45 since it was his bday too.

I'm getting old though, my stomach hurts, not from drinking but from dancing so much after eating. At least I must have danced off what I ate. So after all the Greek music they had a belly dancer. That looks like fun, maybe I should go learn. Then they turn it into a night club. I haven't been into a place like that in years. Back when I was a youngster the guys danced with girls. Now apparently you end up with a goodly amount of women dancing together in groups (no not the way your thinking) and the guys dancing with eachother. That was strange (and again, we're not talking a gay bar). So my little ego boost was that some guy 10 years younger than me danced with me for an hour and bought me a drink and wasn't disgusting about it and didn't ask for anything. And 3 or 4 of his friends just stood there and stared. Guess I must have looked better than some of those 25yo women dancing with eachother.

So now that I got my social activity out for the month I guess I'd better get stuff done around here.

I'm glad to hear you had a good time..

Balance is needed now and then.. I know i need to do something other than work! But i'm not into bars and drinking.. Theme parks take too long to walk through and my legs will never make it.

Oh well.. Back to work, have one out driving now.. And a load of rust buckets on the way from Smassachusetts! Have a lady on the way up from Miami to buy a Volvo..

I'm not big into bars. I don't mind going with a big group to some place. I have better things to do than routinely hanging out somewhere.

I love rollercoasters. I would love to go somewhere with a bunch of those. I guess there's a place in OH that has a bunch of big ones. I may take the girls and go in the spring.

Sharon, Glad you had a good time out last night. Don't care for ouzo myself. Like Doc, the bars are not my thing, but I do like to go listen to some really good blues bands.

Doc, glad to hear that you are moving some cars. Friend of mine lives about 100 miles from you and I forgot what town it is. I talked with him for about 35 minutes yesterday, going to try to go see him. When I do, will stop by and see if we can go out and have some food. It has to be seafood, any kind.

Sharon, the place in Ohio that has the rollercoasters is Cedar Point, in Sandusky. That's where the company sent me in 2003, could see the place from my motel room, as it was only 3 or 4 miles from where I was staying. I left two weeks before it was to open and I was totally pissed. I wanted to go ride a few coasters myself. Google Cedar Point and it will take you to their website and tell you about every coaster they have and if there is any new ones. They do have some big coasters and some old ones too. Lot of coaster history there.

I'm beat, just cut out a rusty corner from the right front fender of Don's '65 El Camino and welded in a patch. Cut up an old hood from a 62 Nova for patch material. I need a section to patch the roof of the my '72 Nova, when I take the 08's style sun roof out.

My muscles throughout my whole body aches, yesterday, the doctor said it was fom the steroids I had taken and will go away in the next 4 weeks. Muscles ache like having a combination of arthritis and the flu. Took a Lortab/hydrocordone, worked most of the day.

I'm waiting for Jean to get home, then go out for some Mexican food. I'm hungary!

Have Jean give your sweet bod a rubdown. Maybe that will help.

Mark said he'd take me there this summer, it's about 150 miles from Detroit and he lives outside of Detroit. I know I'll have to at least take Laurel since she loves roller coasters too.
