Advice needed
I have a 1983 Mustang GT 5.0 H.O. 5 speed.
It has the 5 lug wheels.
The tranny and rear end is from a 94 GT.
It has cold A/C.
Now here is my problem: The Engine was Redone, or Rebuilt.
At that time the Clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing was replaced with Ford parts.
If you get into it hard, the clutch slips in 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
If you drive it normal, no problem.
I am not able, nor want to go to the expense of having a racing clutch installed.
It also has new tires and wheels. It has less than 1K miles since rebuild.
Do you all think it will fetch 2.5K, in the condition its in?
What I am asking is, what would you do?
The knowledge on this board is tremendous, thats why I posted here.

The rear is a 3:73 posi unit.
The local machine shop prepped the flywheel.
The clutch is releasing fully, I don't see it needing an adjustment.
I feel the parts were not designed for this application.
Maybe faulty, when built?
I got the car for my youngest son, who is 30.
He doesn't drive it anymore. I don't drive cars, period. The reason, I feel safer in a truck, the bigger the better.
I hope I am not expecting too much for the car. One more thing, we have had this car for six years, during that time putting 4K miles on it.
Thanks guys, I appreciate any advice.

you have a pic of it you could post?
I don't hot rod anyway, I might hit it in the older 67 camaro for a short distance but thats about it most of the time it's easy 50 mph
The new one I never have hit it nor plan on it=cost too much. But Iam getting like you I just don't feel like driving them, I use to love driving the one, but now it sits.
SO, LMK if you have a pic, I may be interested in it.

I rember when i was young, I would build up a 340 Mopar & blow it up, tear it down and re-crank it and start all over again!
Then i finally realized that a high volume oil pump was sucking the sump dry at high rpm's scoring the crank!
I just cruse these days. And havent had a ticket in years

Here is an old picture of it, before the new tires and wheels.
It has a small dent on the passenger door.
The drivers door has a little spot of rust near the bottom.
It has too many aftermarket add ons to list.
I think with a racing clutch and pressure plate, it will run in the high 11's in the quarter.

I think that picture is about 3 months old.
The car drives great.
I wouldn't be a afraid to drive it to California, If I just had the money to pay the tickets I would get on the way.
It has headers and Flowmasters, sounds to good to drive normal.
Hopefully I can get caught up next week ,and can get some good pictures.
