It seems we all are just about killing ourselfs to make a buck,
For us this year has been the worse in a long time, some of it was my fault not wanting to do that much, but I see more and more folks strugling,
And It's a slice at a time, little by little, kinda like Boiling the frog?
"Slowly"
Here in Fl they are poping up houses everywhere but in the rest of the country I here the job situation Is not to good, and I think what we are seeing is a trickle effect, JMO,

RS out here in Colorado they are building houses like crazy. the rich just keep getting richer while everyone else looks for a job. They say unemployment is down, but no one out here sees it that way. Our economy sucks.
When we rented this house two years ago things were great. rent was 1300.00 a month and although there were many other rentals in this neighborhood they were all either higher or full. Now there are houses sitting vacant because no one can afford t rent them. The last two bedroom apartment we rented was 790.00 they are now going for 550.00 and still half vacant. Running all kinds of specials to get people to move in and allowing those like me who may have to go from a house back to an apartment a place to move in with no deposits. IT SUCKS OUT HERE! I hear it isn't any better back home either.
4 years ago I was in a great paying job. The year before that I was selling cars bringing home 4k a month and loving life (new divorce made it even more fun lol) Now i'm just happy we have something for dinner. Most people I know out here are in the same boat we are. Treading hard just to keep our noses above water.

I was reading the paper yesterday, says the USA deficet increased another 27.5 percent, to around $395 billion and Bush stated it will increase to around $445 billion before the end of the fiscal year (09/30/2004). The USA had spent $1.93 trillion so far. There was no mention of what it will be next fiscal year. For 4 years prior to Bush coming into office, the USA had been a surplus, the economy was very good. We can't give Clinton all the credit, but it was done with politiicians from the GOP and Dem parties. What happened to our surplus, they say some of the blame is on Bush for the tax cuts, which I did like very much. But we're going to pay for these tax refunds and cuts in the long run at a later date.
Where I live, the government operates a nuclear site, which is over 600 square miles. This is where the first nuclear reactor was built, that produced the nuclear materials for the bombs dropped on Japan in WWII. Our economy is over 50 % dependent of the work on the Hanford Nuclear reservation. Right now we are cleaning up the place, the place should be cleaned up by 2029 to 2049. But one thing that really gets me, is that Bush ordered the shutdown of the USA's newest nuclear breeder test reactor a couple of years ago. The reactor, state of art, not only could replenish our nuclear materials used in our nuclear arsenol, but make much need radioactive isotopes for fighting cancer. They can produce the isotopes without making weapons grade nuclear materials. The cost of doing this is very minimal, but Bush has directed to disaseemble the nuke plant. I guess if the plant used oil to make the isotopes, Bush would of kept it going.
In my area, are we better off? Not really, weaning off the government payroll has been going on for 7 years, while other businesses take off. They are not the best paying jobs, but they are work.
I didn't say I was voting for Kerry, but I'm sure not voting for Bush.

JR surplus and deficit are all a numbers game. Seems the big politicians like to use it to get people riled up and willing to pay higher taxes. Its a joke. What they don't mention is the money they have tied up into investments. There is more than enough, but they don't like to touch it.
Can't wait until bush is gone. Hey since he hasn't served yet can we send him to iraq?

Witchie, Bush is the Commander-in-Chief, he went to Iraq last year or the year before, technically, he has already served (turkey dinner to the troops).
I don't have an issue with Bush's or Kerry's military service record. They both were in the military, active and reserves, one served 4 months in Viet Nam, the other non-combat duty at home. We do need to keep some military at home for things like 9/11. That stuff is in the past for me, others it isn't. I think there are other issues that are more important than each one of their military carreers.
Medical, economy, SS, taxes, education, and other things in life. I keep seeing on tv that the Bush people make statements about buying drugs in Canada, people could be taking a risk by buying from Canada. Doesn't Canada have some standards for drugs like the USA, don't they buy their drugs from the USA also? So if a doctor specifies a brand name drug, that drug is made in the USA or Canada, under the manufacturers specifications, it should be safe. Bush's people are grasping at straws and spooking us with terrorism to stay in the White House.

JR I honestly don't care much about bush's military hidings or not. I'd just like to see him join in combat where he was so quick to send our people and have them come home in boxes. I'd like him to see what he has done to revenge his daddy first hand.
Yes canada has high standards for meds. Lets face it their meds come from the same company as our meds. They are just cheaper in canada so companies would make less money if we bought them thru Canada. Money loss = bad for business= bad for Bush's friends.
I've so had it with politicians. Told Connor whenever he is ready to move back to Canada i'm ready to go with him. He is Canadian here on a resident alien card. My ex would toss a fit but he would probably handle it if we moved to Winnepeg.
More people now then ever realize we need a change. Not sure i'm going to like the way the changes go down, I don't have much faith in this next election to pull off the changes.

I would be a very happy man and give up my Crown for a year, if we could place all politicians and political hopefuls at the bottom of the ocean. It would be a hard choice to decide which ocean to polute. Then get a new batch in and if they pull the same shit, they get a pair of concrete shoes too.
I'm so sick of these liars, only in it for themselves, screwing all of us. Spoke with a political hopeful several years ago, he said he was different than the others. After a few years, they closed down the cafeteria for the state politicians at the state capital during remodeling. He was on the front page of most of the newspapers in the state, bitching about his political perk of not getting a free meal for several years, during the renovation. I confronted him last year at one of the state fairs, told him he sounded like a fool and a typical whiney politician who should of kept his mouth shut, because there were others not as fortunate as him for when it came to having enough food to feed their families and left. I may see him next weekend, when we do the kick-off for the fair, being an election year, he should be there for exposure and I will hammer at him again.
Gawd-damn bottom feeders!

Iam just going to read all your comments, Iam just to burned out over these sell out polotricksters,
This NAFTA/GATT= free trade is the reason for the slump in sales except houseing,
You think it's going to get better? not trying to be Neg, but No, I have to stop too burned out over all this, I'll just read,

RS Its not just NAFTA. Its all kinds of things. NAFTA has just been the biggest scape goat. I agree its not going to get better any time soon.
JR I agree i'd like to see most politicians at tha bottom of something. Hmmm how bout the garbage dump. I'd hate to polute the watter with all of the bs they spout. I've seen some great politicians enter office with the best of intentions and sticking to their guns only to be brought low by the way things work and the pressure to conform. If Jesse Ventura ran this year he would have my vote as he did when I lived in MN. The man has some great ideas, just don't let him open his mouth because he can't speak in public very well. Boy do I wish I had worked on that campaign. I could have banked big bucks explaining his ideas better than he could. His publisist worked his ass off on that one. Legalizing prostitution (think of the taxable income there not to mention the mandated health checks. Nevada has the right idea) Legalizing many drugs (again a huge tax break to the people) since if someone wants them bad enough they will get them. And it would cut out the violence and middle man doing the drive by's. he had many other idea's that MN would never have gone for damn old farmers lol. He has more of a clue then GW or Kerrie.

Just heard on the news that State Farm insurance is going around writing checks for those in Florida, hurt by the hurricanes. Then they are cancelling policies and or raising rates.
Yesterday, I made a post over at EBMDB about donating. Wasn't trying to offend anyone with my post, but wanted to let people know that when they donate, they can specify where they want their money to go. Red Cross and United Way have administrative costs of approxomately 45% and if one donates, the monies do not nessicarily go to the area of need. A few years ago, we had a major fire in our area, people donated like crazy, only to find out after an audit, that most of the monies went elsewhere. There was a big news story on it, including 60 Minutes news story. The area where I live are very caring people and do not hesitate to help those in need, just like folks in the rest of the country. Being a member of several car clubs, we do a lot of charity work with all sorts of charities and local help organizations. One club, we continue to send "care" packages to our troops in Iraq, even bought equipment, ie kavalar vests for our local Army reserves going over to Iraq, because the Army was out of them.
I've been on both ends of charity, giving and receiving, March of Dimes paid for the medical costs of repairing my crippled legs as a child, big supporter of them. I have been involved with charitees and helping people for many years. I read some of the feedback from my post over there and was just relaying on some of my experience with helping people. Every week, I am involved with donating, helping, etc, those in need or less fortunate than me, I ask for nothing back. I get satisfaction from making someone smile or knowing that I have made a difference. But when I donate monies, I want the most of it to go to those who need it, not some administrative SOB, who gets a yearly bonus for the amount of money raised, which comes from monies you and I donate. If one feels that I'm full of shit, check it out, then tell me whether I'm right or wrong.
Yeah, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, need some coffee too.

JR that is normal State Farm policy. They have been talking about pulling out of florida for years now. State farm is the insurance company of the jerk who hit Connor. THEY SUCK THEY SUCK THEY SUCk and that is as nice as I can put it. The f....rs won't pay squat without going to court even when their client slammed into the back of connor without even tapping his brakes. GRRRRR i'm going back to bed lol.
