I've been scammed and eBay's VPP plan is no help...
Hope someone out there can help me out... I purchased a vintage auto thru eBay two months ago and although the pics looked great, the car arrived on a car carrier and was pretty, but mechanically a wreck..! The seller claimed the car had been 90% restored and if I was not happy with it, he would gladly refund my purchase money (am I a fool, or what..?). Anyways, the seller has gone underground, Paypal is worthless in this kind of claim and eBay's VPP plan seems to be equally worthless... Has anybody out there been thru similar experience and does anyone have any suggestions..? Thanks, Bobby

Bobby, sorry to hear of your misfortune.
eBay VPP is worded by Lawyers. It has a clever clause in it where if you do not have the vehicle inspected they can weasel out of the claim!
It's more eBay BS and FLUFF to make you feel safe when you are not!

Hi,
I am so sorry this has happened to you. Many years ago I purchased a product that was advertised as new and it cost me a good amount of money. It arrived and it looked like someone literally threw a bunch of parts into a case and placed the case inside a box. I complained to the seller and Ebay. The seller had a high rating and told me they could care less what I said since it was thier "high rating" versus my little me. Ebay would not do a thing about it nor would the seller. As a result I canceled the account. I finally gave in and started a new account and have had it for many years with a 100% positive rating. I just purchased what was advertised as a rebuilt rack and pinion steering for a 91 Acura Integra. It took me something like a month to install it, sent the core back. First of all I had to ask for the core refund (I wonder how many buyers do this and never ask for the refund they are supposed to automatically refund?). It was a week or two after installed the rebuild unit that it started to leak profusely (like 1.5 quarts in 10 miles of power steering fluid). The mechanic says that he has never seen one leak in this area and he has 35 years experience. He also believes that it was not rebuilt but just painted. I have no idea if this is true or not but the bottom line is they speak like they will do something but have delayed long enough that I cannot make a negative comment on Ebay nor do I have any recourse with Ebay. So I am out my money. The company is Garo Steering out of Florida. They have a few different locations. There is a south of the border language barrier so it is a little hard to understand them. I have to wonder what kind of shop they really have??? Do youself a favor and do not buy from GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. GARO STEERING. I now have canceled my Ebay account and will never use Ebay again. Just to think, I almost purchased a late model hybrid from Ebay---glad I didn't. I am so sorry this has happened to you.
