I talked to him this afternoon. He had made it about 350 miles from home when I talked to him. I was going to call him when I got home but I know he goes to bed early and figured he might have already hit the sack and didn't want to wake him up. He was enjoying himself though. I'm sure we'll hear and see some of his adventures.

He's in Utah right now. He's gotten to see all kinds of stuff he's never seen like pine trees. He's never seen one in the ground before, just cut at the xmas tree lots. Wheat fields and silos. Oil pumps. and the Rockies.

Are ya'lls pine tree's any different than our
tall pines?? Our's here make for good lightning rods.

Anyway, sounds like that would be a fun
ride to take. I've always thought it would be
neat to see what the west looks like.
I've never travelled much. Been out of FLa. twice
in my life. Once when I was 3 I rode to New Hampshire
and then West Virginia when I was 15. Thats it!!

Doc, if you were on I-84 and went through Pendleton and by Umatilla, Oregon and the Army Depot (where they have chemical weapons), you were about 40 miles south of my house.

Hi Rs..

My flight leaves Thursday Morning.. Nervous about that! I don't really like flying.. and the plane is an Air Bus A320! I hope they have retrofitted those jack screws!!

Any damage from the storm? Didn't look like much from what i read..

It is really beautiful out here! Weather is cool and it is really peaceful out on the farm.. Cell phone don't get hardly any reception. We are down in Yamhill Vally and it blocks most signals out..

Going to see the Spruce Goose tomorrow, hopefully i am allowed to take lots of photos..

Doc,
Don't worry about them airplanes, aint nuthin' to it these days. I didn't care too much for flying, but in the last six years, the planes ride have been real smooth and comfy.

After you see the Spruce Goose, need to take a drive to Tillamook. Stop and get some Tillamook cheese and other dairy stuff. Then a few miles north, stop at the Tillamook Jerky factory. It has the best jerky that you will ever tasted and variety.

Too bad I have to work this week, would of liked to have came down and seen you and Sharon, visit for awhile and sip some Crown. I hurt my back again, from the martial arts, taking some meds, go to doctor on Thursday and then Friday head to Dayton, WA for the car show. It's a three day event, but will only do two days.

Have a great flight back, looks like you got to drive through a small area of the desert in the Pacific Northwest and enjoyed the western side of the USA. Pretty damn nice west of the Mississippi and the people are some of the friendliest you'll ever meet. Enjoy your time here. Say hello to Sharon, I'm keeping my distance, heard the knife is within reaching distance.

JR, It is hard to get used to the time change.. Only 9:37 here..

I was hoping to drop by and visit with you while i was here.. I might come for another visit someday, Sharon is an excellent hostess and has treated me like a king during my visit.

Going to see if Guinness will consider this as the longest personal delivery of a motor vehicle by a sales person. Definitely something out of the ordinary for sure..

The Barracuda is running.. Had 4 push rods jump off (slant 6) The valve lash was so loose they just popped off.. Nice old car for being 40 years old..

I have flown many times, big and small planes, and don't like any of them myself.

Dixie,

We have so many pine trees out here that there's generally huge clumps of the tall ones. We rarely get lightning here so they don't usually blow up like in NM. There trees are so few and far between even a little tree is a lightning rod.

You & RS will have to come for a visit some day. Doc will probably recommend you don't try to take the trip in 3 days though.

Sharon,

The land sounds so different than what we have
here in central FL. I would love to go for a ride
out West one day. If I could ever get a way from work.

Don't know if RS would ever let me take a
trip with him. He always talks about
how pretty Pennsylvania is.

I would like to see Niagra Falls too.

Maybe this fall I will break away from here
when business slows down.

Back to reality..

Felt like i was stepping into a blast furnace getting off the plane in Tampa!!

Sure is nice up in the NW! Will have to visit there again someday
