It looks legit. I would have to do a search for the sellers dealer license to confirm.

I do not think the seller is a dealer.

From what i can see they just do listings for private owners, and are acting as a TA..

I agree, looks like they have been in business for awhile. I thought one needed a dealer license when acting as a selling agent.

Apparently not on eBay Motors..

That must be another eBay account, since they claim they started in 1999.. Rack up too many negs, no problem.. Just open up another account!

All eBay cares about is collecting the fees..

I know if they are brokering vehicles in Florida a dealers license is required. And is probably required in many other states as well.

http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/dmv/dmvdeal.html
Failure To Obtain A License

Any person violating these licensing requirements is guilty of a second-degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and/or fine of $500. Such person will also be liable under civil law for violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, subject to fines of up to $5000 per violation, and may face a permanent injunction issued by a circuit court.

But i guess since eBay is only a venue they are exempt from this.. You can't do this on autotrader.com they verify your dealer info..

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/motors- ... stant.html
From what i see here anyone listing a vehicle must be a dealer to list a vehicle under their own eBay acct!

"Trading Assistants who are not licensed as a motor vehicle sales dealer are prohibited from: * Listing vehicles for sale under their own User ID

So it seems eBay is allowing their own regulations and Site Policy to be broken..

Its all about collecting the fees!

Just ask Tony.. He will agree!!

But just think how much in fees ebay collects. They only care when someone sues them. Then they hide behind the o nly a venue thing.
