XM Channel 6 last night..

They were doing old radio broadcasts. Had a station in Miami that gave away a 1966 GTO Valued at over 4000.00 and the phone conversation with the winner of the contest..

That was really cool.. They kept saying (sponsors name) Tom McCain Shoes 1966 GTO Valued at Over 4000.00 WOW!! The woman they called on the phone didn't believe she had won the car..

Cool stuff back then..

That was some big bux too back in the good ol days,

I'll bet it was loaded with op. like maybe a 3 duce carb set up, and or an Air car?

Had to be more then the run of the mill GTO cause I think they sold for low 3K (which was still good change)

I paid $700.00 in the summer of 1971 for a 1965 GTO, 421 cid, tri-power, 4 speed, PB, ET 5 spoke mags, dark blue metalic and white interior.

Nice car, but expensive for a poor school boy to drive.

Yea.. Too expensive for a HS Drop Out like me..

I looked at all that crap the teachers drove and figured.. "If that's all they get out of it, teaching this stuff", it ain't for me!!

Damd.. I should have payed attention and got a College Degree in something.. Then i could have retired, moved to Florida, and drove slow in the Left hand lane!

My truck is set to run 72 mph, that's all it will do.
I always drive in the right lane, should be OK, "NOT".
People are always coming up behind me blowing their horns.
When they pass, I always give them the friendly southern one finger wave.
I-40, if my truck ran 200 mph. Still would be too slow. Big trucks out number 4 wheelers, 10 to 1 on that Interstate.

I thought the shoulder was the slow lane in the southern states. I was working in Texas for over a year and a lot of the slow drivers used the shoulder to drive on.

In Washinton state, it's illegal to drive on the shoulder. Oregon should allow them grey hairs to drive on the shoulder, but they always pull out from a side street, onto the highway/freeway and drive 10 to 20 mph under the speed limit in the far left lane.

Your truck is setup for 72mph max. My 2002 Mazda (aka Ford Ranger) Dual Sport has a fuel cut-out, which allows the truck to go only 91mph tops. Factory rep said it was because of the heigth of the truck and it could tip over at high speeds, so this gets around the liability. Hell, I can tip it over at half that speed on several on/off ramps near my house.
