eBay Billing Glitch Overcharging Sellers

Post by Doc » March 22nd, 2006, 6:24 am

This is from The Auction Guild Newsletter..

************************************************************
EBAY BILLING PROBLEMS - CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS!!!
************************************************************
On 16 March some sellers reported that ebaY had grossly overcharged them on listing fees
whilst relisting items. For example on a listing that should have had a fee of 35 cents,
ebaY charged $4.80. When contacted ebaY confirmed that they knew there was a glitch
causing this problem, but failed to post it anywhere on their site, or notify affected sellers.
In the past ebaY has not automatically refunded such overcharges, even when they knew
about them, but has forced sellers to check their own accounts and file claims before
making refunds, so check your accounts carefully and make sure you were not
overcharged.

Shit. Guess I'd better look at my account.

This just shows how Sleazy they are! If you discover we overcharged your account, we will correct "Our Mistake". Otherwise we are going to keep it!

It really amazes me how eBay has became so big the way they treat their customers! :violent1:

I have to say, one time during a billing glitch they overcharged me. I found it but hadn't reported it yet. They did credit my account back all by themselves. Each month I have about 50-75 pages of billing. Yeah, like I really find all their mistakes.
