I put two cars up for sale in the local ads. '69 Ford LTD, paid $85.00 for it, changed fluids, put some old tires that were collecting dust on it, daughter drove it for a year, sold yesterday for $400.00. I drove it to work a couple of times, was a nice driver, straight rust free body, windshield cracked and front seat had a rip in it, otherwise not bad. Quit driving after the tabs expired. Originally bought it for the Ford 9" rearend, FMX (HD C6) trans and 351 motor.
I bought a '82 Buick Riviera for $100.00 in November. Changed fluids, put two studded tires on the front and sent it to Spokane with my oldest daughter. She put an altenator on it for $65.00, then I brought it home last after she was done with it. Wouldn't give it to son-in-law, he ruined the last two cars I sent up there. He's no mechanic, but took out the distributor to change plugs and wires on the Tempo several years ago, it was hauled away. Last year, bought her a Buick Regal, loaded. A switch went bad on the driver window, he took the door panel off, duct taped it back on, then decided to tune it up also. It was hauled away a few months ago.
I said he couldn't touch this car. He tried to put on the altenator, but screwed that up, daughter and friend put it on right before I brought it home. It's a good driver, everything works, no radio. It's in paper for $500.00, if I would be home, probably would of sold it by now. If it doesn't sell, goes in next weeks paper again. I don't need 6 cars. Will put the money in my '72 Nova.

Don't know much about the Riviera, so I can't tell you what the MPG is. I filled it up in Spokane, there is a 1/2 tank left and I don't plan on putting more gas or money in it. It's going to be sold just like it sits. You don't want this car, has a ton of smog stuff on it. Hell the carb has two electrical connections, think they are sensors for something, the choke is mechanical, it has a smog pump, and vacuum hoses all over the engine.
I've had a few people call, when they ask questions, I just tell them to look it over good or bring someone that knows cars, because I don't know much about this one.
I thought the LTD was a better car and would sell last. But it sold first, going to place another add for the Riviera and lower the price to $400.00. Thought I placed a price of $500.00, but I put $600.00. Just want to get rid of it. At $400.00, I'll make a quick $200.00.

That Riv has a full computer system with an electronically meetered carb (don't remember what they call em) But it is the closest thing to a TBI System.
It should be a 305 Oldsmobile engine.. Not the best on gas.. But not the worst either.. I used to like them for drivers back in the old days, Had a convertible once that was pretty nice!

Thanks DOc, for the information on the Riviera. I knew it was a 305 Olds engine, but not much of anything else.
I was thinking of taking the front and rear power leather seats out and putting them in the Nova. The back seat will fit, but with the hump in the Nova, the front seats will not work. It's a shame, they are really nice and comfortable seats, have a minor seam that came loose on one seat. Would of recovered all seats with different material and color.
I also thought about removing the sunroof and putting in the Nova. I have to remove an old '80's type sunroof and weld a patch in, thought the Riviera sunroof wouldn't take much more work to install.
But, have decided to just sell the car and put the money in the Nova. I probably should of kept the Ford, the drive train was perfect. This friend of mine, mentioned him before, he has the '69 Hemi Charger, AAR Cuda, 57 T-Bird, 59 Cad Convert, etc, he has auctions the last Thursday of the month. I've bought several other cars over the years for my kids or parts cars, there will be more.

I just realized that I got to study for a test tomorrow at work. It's time for my Radiological Worker II requalification. Four hour computer test and one hour to get dressed up and do a walk through, with an event simulation. I do this every two years.
Then in a couple of more weeks, have to take my refresher class and quanitive mask fit test. Guess I'm going to have to shave me beard off, they don't allow beards during the mask fit.

Good to hear you're selling. I know how them long hours of work are. 50 minute drive each way and 10-12 hour days of work. The craft have been working 7 days a week for several months. That gets old.
I'm trying to sell a 1982 Buick Riviera, had one flake call this weekend. Several others I know, said they weren't getting any calls on their vehicles.
I went down from $600 to $450 and said I would take $400, just to get it out of my hair. I'll probably hang on to it for a few more weeks and relist it. Last week, wasn't home enough to get the calls and the people that did call, probably couldn't find their way here. There is 3 ways into my street and 2 are blocked off until the 27th, for new construction.
I think she went to the beach, which is about an hour from her place, with a few kids.

Yup, and it rained while we were at the beach and then the sun came out when we went to the outlet mall. Oh well, I found some pants that actually fit me and they were on sale. It's almost impossible to find size 2 slacks so I'm quite happy.
Just playing catch up today. I've been having problems with my network. Spent an hour on the phone and finally got the wireless stuff on. I was having a conflict between my two routers and just figured out which one wants to be dominant. I get to spend Monday on the phone with work to try to get my email account to work right. It's been messed up since they gave it to me.
Sigh, no, haven't gotten any yet. Don't forsee it in the near future. Starting to learn to live without.
More tax crap to do over the next day or two. Loads of stuff to list. Yuck. I can't wait til I'm rich enough to quit selling anything I find. It takes so long and makes so little.
I was going to call you yesterday Doc but I packed a huge stack of orders before I left then had to wander around picking everyone up, finding lunch, driving etc. It was fun though. I think I only worked about 5 hrs yesterday. Nice to have a short day.
