Love the pics Doc. I have to go through about a century's worth and find pics of exmil's houses etc. The home is putting together a memory book for her and they asked me for pics.

My grandmother from Chattanooga, TN, used to call them "niggras."

Never have cared for the term african american and neither does my relatives that are black. It's wrong and they prefer black.

They've been here all weekend, my oldest grandkid, 14 yo, took 2nd place in the Teen Girls Arm Wrestling Tournement. Her first time ever competing, the first place was a ringer. Got her quick the first time, then the second time, she had to work for her first place. Real proud of her, she'll go for 1st next year.

Dixie, That would be cousin Van's wife Linda.. I have some photos of them at home, will have to scan one in and see if it is the same person.

Van used to work as a prison guard at sumter correctional institute.

They sure bring back the memories of when life "seemed simple" .

Americans went to war for their country, Women went to work building aircraft engines, And we were "United We Stand".. Now it seems everyone is only interested in the $$$ and the hell with every one else..

I guess I'm just old fashioned.. But i believe in taking care of my customers and do everything i can to ensure their 100% satisfaction..

These days a canned response is the norm for big companies like eBay who don't even offer a person one can call up for help! They may very well set the precedence for the new generation business as it has became!

I'm just too behind the times i guess!

Anyway.. Dixie, i found some pics of Linda and Vanderpool Deuel, should i post them and see if it is the same person??

Hey Doc-
Thanks for allowing me to register here. I do miss your posts over at EBMDG. Asked one of the regulars over there where you'd gone.

Needless to say, I've done a lot of reading on your site in the interim.
I wholeheartedly agree that how ePray goes about things is typical of corporations these days and it disgusts me, no other word for it.

I'm really enjoying the pics. Very kind of you to share with everyone. I'm sure this is jogging all manner of emotion and nostalgia in you and to an extent, in all of us watching.

I agree with Sharon. I'm only 44, but man I was born too late. Instead of latching onto all the new technology (example: I carry a nextel only when I'm on the clock 'cause the boss says so - it gets chucked in the corner the minute I step thru the door) I find myself constantly perusing old family stuff, online nostalgic sites, old TV show sites, etc. I constantly acquire old things (wife doesn't understand and I've yet to find a way to get her to  ).

I love finding the "real people" in daily life and that includes on this damn box we all use....and you, sir, are as real as they get.

Take care of yourself. I'll be around, reading like a madman.

Uncle MO, Glad you have joined our friendly little group..

I have been a technology person since i was a kid.. Loved radios, TVs, and hung out at a local TV shop after school.. Soon i became as good a tech as the owner.. I made 2.00 per week.. Wow..

"Honest Frank" Arcadi, The owner of Econo and Family Motors.. I once asked him why he called it Family Motors, he said.. You get fucked here just like at home..

I wonder what ever happened to ole Frank.. He had a way of cheating his floorplanners.. Someone said he cheated the wrong person and had to leave town real quick!

I was up near the N.J. line where the big bridge is, they have a ele.sign just before you go on telling you what the Wind gust is at the top.

LOL doc now that was funny "Honest about his dishonesty" I know what you mean.

We tend to respect even a crook as lone as he says he one. LOL LOL.

But hey did you note he favors our man P. (so called EBay inventor)?
