How can his son [who I assume has some sort of interest in this case] legally witness and notarize this document ? My wife is a notary however she can not witness or notarize any documents on my behalf.

I hope it's not a loophole.

Wont be long i guess before you see more of these as someone at EBM is sue happy. Never thought I'd see the day when EBM people would be suing each other.

If someone bids and wins an auction, absolutely they should pay. But to inspect or ask to inspect, This is carrying it a little too far. The way I see it, if you don't want it inspected don't put it up for sale. ( This is just my opinion ) Does anyone else want to sue me now? I will update you tomorrow Doc. Tommy, winning an auction then deciding to have the vehicle inspected After the fact is the wrong way..

It is the Potential Buyers Responsobility to Ask Questions, and have an Inspection Done if they feel the need for one, BEFORE Bidding or Purchasing!

An informed buyer is an Educated Buyer..

Doc, I agree with you 100%. I guess I should have stated preinspection. This is the issue I am talking about preinspection, before a bid is placed. I have never at anytime won a bid and did not pay. Good or bad I take it like it is. I guess that I don't need to post anywhere because of this same issue. People on the EBM were saying that I said there was only 3 honest sellers on ebay. Taken completely out of text. I am sure most people have those that they trust. I hope I said this right. I apologize for the confusion//

Now I hope that I can make this post clear. I will not be bidding on anyones items, nor will I be asking for an inspection. My ebay account will be closed as of tommorow. I do have 3 sellers that I will contact, when they have something I want. If they want to sell to me that is fine, if not that is fine also.

Well I stand corrected. This is a couple of quotes that I have received: ( It is against ebay rules to do off ebay transactions) ( It is not right to encourage preinspections because my friend a seller does not allow them) When I am wrong I don't care to admit it.

eBay is just a Venue! They bring buyers and sellers together for a fee!

If trading partners do a transaction off of the site, eBay does not get it's comission on the transaction! And they don't like that! AND there is no Buyer Protection Insurance!

The whole idea to BE EDUCATED how to buy! And be EDUCATED how to sell! As i see it, eBay is mainly pushing services to collect more Fees from sellers! while really not doing much to educate both party's.. This leads to transaction confusion, and issues after the sale. Mostly becuse both the Newby Buyers And Newby Sellers don't know how to handle the transaction!
